Pastor and Spouse Prayer Summit UPDATED

Monday - Wednesday, 11 - 13 February 2008

Registration Deadline: February 01, 2008

From noon on Monday through the lunch meal on Wednesday

At Camp Findley on Findley Lake in Chautauqua County, NY

WHAT IT IS:A Prayer Summit is a life-changing worship and prayer experience attended by a diversity of pastors and their spouses. Also persons in the chaplaincy, directors of strategic church-related ministries and their spouses are welcome. This takes place over a three day period. The purpose is to seek God, God’s Kingdom and God’s righteousness with the expectation that God will guide us through a humbling, healing, uniting process which will lead us into unity of heart, mind and mission, and will qualify us for the blessing of God!

A Prayer Summit is a time to connect with others who have a heart for prayer and community transformation, a time to learn what God is doing in our region, a time to hear God’s strategy for our region and a time of healing and refreshment. Come expecting to connect with God through worship and through prayer. Come expecting the Spirit of God to be our guide. There will be designated times when all participants are together in one place for worship, prayer or teaching. There will be other times when we divide unto smaller groups for prayer ministry. There will be blocks of “free” time and, of course, there will be meal times together.– For more information on the Prayer Summit movement in general, go to www.prayersummits.net

INTERCESSORS:Experience at previous Prayer Summits has taught the importance of having prayer warriors on-site making intercession for the pastors, ministry leaders and their spouses while they pray. In other words, we have people praying for the people who are praying. The effect of this is that our spiritual ears become many times more acute and the power of the whole experience multiplies exponentially. Therefore, we offer an Intercessors’ track at the Prayer Summit. Intercessors will pray in a separate location from the other participants but will usually join everyone for meals and for the evening worship and communion. – The cost of the Intercessor Track is set as low as possible because the intercessors are there to “work” on the behalf of the others.

PREPARATION and EXPECTATIONS:It is expected that you will arrive prayed up; having asked God to meet us and to have His way and having asked your congregation to pray for us throughout the Summit. Many pastors choose to fast for a day (or more) for the Summit prior to coming to the Summit. This we do not require but we do encourage it. – Some participants may be tempted to leave for a few hours or a night to attend to other business but it is expected that all participants will be at and remain at the Summit site for the full duration of the Summit. The full blessing of the Summit is not realized if one comes late, or leaves early, and therefore every participant is urged to set these three days completely aside from other scheduled activities.

LOCATION:Camp Findley is located 1 ½ miles south of the Village of Findley Lake on state route 426. From Interstate 86, simply get off at exit #4 and then follow route 426 south to the camp. People in the Chautauqua County townships of Clymer and Harmony may find it easier to take route 474 west to route 426 and then go north on 426 to camp. People a little further to the north may want to take route 430 to the Village of Findley Lake and then go south to the camp. People in Warren County may want to head over toward Corry on route 6 or route 957 and then go north on 426 to the camp.

COST:The “early bird” cost for individuals is $125 after 07 January the cost is 135. The cost for married couples is $230 before 07 January and $245 after that date. The cost for persons on the Intercessor Track is $100. The deadline for registrations to be mailed is the 1st of February. Married couples will, of course, stay in private rooms. However, private rooms for individuals who come without their spouses cannot be guaranteed.

WHAT TO BRING: Prayer Summits are informal, so dress casually for typical late September weather. – Meals at Camp Findley get high marks. But for such a low cost, this is not the Ritz. You will be sleeping in twin beds and you must bring your own bedding, towels and toiletries. – Bring your Bible, notebook, personal items and a heart hungry to seek and meet the Lord.

LEADERSHIP: The Holy Spirit is our leader. – The Summit will be facilitated by Roy Miller. At present, brother Roy is the Director of The Better Place, Inc. For 22 years he served as a senior pastor and then for 6 years he served as a district superintendent for the United Methodist Church. From the year 2000 through 2003 he served as the facilitator of the Twin-Tiers Area Prayer Summit that was held at LeTourneau Conference Center. Then from 2004 to the present he has served as the facilitator and the Chairperson of the Leadership Team for the New York State Prayer Summit.

SPONSORSHIP: This Summit is offered as a ministry of The Better Place, Inc. The Better Place is a non-denominational Christian not-for-profit ministry with a three-fold mission; To equip the Church to be a house of prayer for the nations, to spiritually refresh pastors and to network the Body of Christ for revival. The 12 member Board of Directors consists of dedicated men and women who represent ten different denominations.
