Prayer Letter Number 13

Prayer Letter #13

15 November 2007

Dear Prayer Partners of The Better Place,

You prayed regarding the County-wide "Transformation Event" that was held in Chautauqua County in August. The county was well represented by the participants and, in addition, four people who represented "Transform Buffalo" in Erie County, NY attended. Christian ministries from throughout the County were represented by displays that were set up around the sanctuary of the host church. Worship was powerful and dynamic. The purpose of this event was clearly met as participants gained a clearer revelation of what God is doing corporately to bring His revival to the region and as intercessors and leaders in ministry "found" each other and established ties that will keep them working together for the Kingdom in this region. - Because of this Event, intercessors from throughout the county are now meeting together for prayer each Monday in the prayer room of the Samaritan House in Sinclairville (in the geographic center of the county). - Thank you for your prayers; God heard and answered!

You prayed about the Pastors' Prayer Summit that was scheduled for three days in September. This had to be postponed due to low registrations. Thank God, we were able to quickly set new dates (11-13 February 2008) as God favored us. We can see God's hand in all of this. Praise God also because of the great publicity the ministry of The Better Place received through this; we were publicized on the Family Life Network radio station throughout western New York and Pennsylvania for a solid week. Many people came to me to tell me they had heard the ads. - Thank you for your prayers; God heard and answered! And please keep the February Summit in your prayers. Also, if you are a pastor, go to our web site and register now. If you are a lay person, please direct your pastor to our web site to get registered now for the February Pastors' Prayer Summit. Thank you!

You prayed for a "Building His House of Prayer" workshop that I led at the Jamestown Healing Word Church in October. God was graciously, wonderfully and dynamically present throughout the weekend at Healing Word Church. The people were attentive and open to what the Spirit had to say. I am confident this congregation will continue to grow strong as a part of God's House of prayer. - Thank you for your prayers; God heard and answered!

It is impossible for the Church to effectively fulfill the commission Christ has given us if we are not actively engaged in the ministry of inner healing and deliverance. For this reason I see the Agape Prayer Ministry as a key component of the ministries that The Better Place offers on an ongoing basis. On November 2nd and 3rd we sponsored an Agape Prayer Ministry Training School. To put it mildly, God's favor was all over this School that served participants from Chautauqua and Warren counties in NY and PA. You may read more about this most recent School in the NEWS section at our web site and you may read about this ministry in the EQUIPPING THE CHURCH pages at our web site. - Please keep this on-going ministry in your prayers.

I was privileged to be taking my turn in our Healing Rooms one recent Tuesday when a man came with a medical diagnosis of compressed disks in his back. His doctor had scheduled surgery for him. He was in so much pain (pain shooting down his legs) that he could not stand for prayer; he had to sit. God healed him completely on the spot as soon as I commanded the infirmity to leave and spoke healing. He went out literally dancing and glorifying God to the other men who were in our waiting room. Those men then received their healing that same day too! - A man who had been diagnosed by medical personnel as having double angina came to our healing rooms, then after a return visit to his doctor, he contacted our Healing Rooms director (MaryAnn Dahlbeck) to report that he had been completely healed. - On another occasion an elderly woman who was blind was brought in. There was no immediate manifestation of her healing while she was there but a couple weeks later when MaryAnn telephoned her to see how she was doing she reported that her sight had been completely restored. - And so it goes. Many weeks we do not have anyone come to the Healing Rooms but whenever they do come Jesus always meets them! - Thank you for your continued prayers for all who minister as a part of this God-glorifying ministry.

As you contemplate your year-end giving please consider a generous donation to The Better Place. - And here is a way you can give year-round without giving your own money:

Do all your web searching at www.goodsearch.com

Just type Better Place (Jamestown, NY) in the "WHO DO YOU GOODSEARCH FOR?" Box. You only have to type that in once and it will automatically be your default charity recipient. Then you can give even more without actually giving by clicking on the "GoodShop" icon at this web search site where you will discover that practically every major retail chain in the nation will contribute a percentage of your purchases from them to The Better Place. So, happy searching and happy shopping to benefit The Better Place!

Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your financial support and the words of encouragement I receive from so many. - Have a great Thanksgiving holiday!

18 August 2007 Chautauqua County Transformation Event

This Event was attended by 40 people and the Holy Spirit. Most participants came from the south part of the county but there were also some from the central county, one from the north county and four persons came from Erie County, NY. - God make His presence, His love and his pleasure felt quickly and wonderfully right from the start as members of the First Covenant Church (Jamestown) led in worship with music and song. - The day was a tapestry of worship, prayer, teaching, and fellowship all woven together by the Spirit of God. Ministry displays by the Healing Rooms, The Better Place, Chautauqua Lake Men of Integrity, Helping Hands/the Gateway Center and Samaritan House were set up so participants could learn more about these vital ministries in Chautauqua County. - After viewing the Sentinel Group video The Destiny of Nations, featuring John N. Mulinde, near the conclusion of the day, the Spirit fell on some of the participants with travailing prayer. God wants His Kingdom to come and His will to be done in Chautauqua County; God wants to see His Church revived the people of the county awakened and the entire county transformed. God's people just need to make God's desire and priority their own desire and priority.  To this end, the participants of the Event will be constant in prayer. Because prayer is the key, The Better Place will be following up by taking the initiative to "fed" intercessors with prayer need from pastors prayer groups and also by giving leadership to prayer initiatives such as region-wide prayer and worship gatherings and coordinating a non-stop 24/7 prayer stream among the congregations of the Church in the county.

14 August 2007 Hotdogs and Healing

The Chautauqua Healing Rooms In the Southern Tier, which operates under the corporate umbrella of The Better Place, sponsored a hotdog roast at their 31 Water Street location in Jamestown on Tuesday afternoon. The purpose of this was simply to draw attention to the presence of the Healing Rooms and to make people aware of what the ministry is all about. A high percentage of people who come to the Healing Rooms in Jamestown are healed when they are prayed for; others experience their healing within hours or a few days after being prayed for. - On this Tuesday, 35 people were attracted by the hotdogs and six people requested and received prayer for healing. - For more information on Healing Rooms check out www.healingrooms.com.

A Double Wallop on the National Day of Prayer

03 May 2007: A Double Wallop on the National Day of Prayer

For many years there has been only one prayer gathering on the Nation Day of Prayer in Chautauqua County. That was always held at noon on Tracy Plaza outside of the Jamestown City Hall. This year we had a noon-time gathering in front of the court house steps in Mayville; the county seat. And we also had the Tracy Plaza gathering but this year it was at 6:00 p.m. - This was clearly the plan of God and God's response to the prayers of the people for revival and awakening in the land. These two locations are strategic in Chautauqua County. And because of the two options, many more people were able to participate. - The battering ram of prayer struck some mighty blows to the strongholds of the enemy and the Kingdom of God gained territory through the united and concerted prayers of the saints on this day.

House of Prayer Workshop an Encouragement

30 June - 01 July 2007: House of Prayer Workshop an Encouragement

For four hours on Saturday and another three hours on Sunday, The Better Place Director led a "Building a House of Prayer Workshop" for the people of the Mount Zion Assembly Church in Jamestown. A few guests from other Church fellowships in the community were also present on Saturday evening. - The topics covered included, Building on a Proper Foundation, Jesus our Model, Corporate Prayer and Persistence. - The participants demonstrated spiritual maturity and great attentiveness through their interaction. - Pastor Tim Heyer declared at the conclusion of the two-day workshop that he hopes to bring Dr. Miller back for a follow-up workshop in the near future.
